Construction and Renovation Work Scheduled at Fort Ward Park & Eugene Simpson Stadium Park Tennis Courts

As part of the FY 2012 Capital Improvement Program, the Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities will resurface and color coat the tennis courts at Fort Ward Park, 4301 West Braddock Rd. and Eugene Simpson Stadium Park, 426 E. Monroe Ave.

The work at Fort Ward Park is scheduled for June 25-July 27. The courts will receive new fencing during the first week. Following the fence installation, the court surface will repaved and new posts and nets will be installed. During the third and fourth weeks, the new asphalt surface will be allowed to cure. The courts will be colored and lined during the fifth week. Court materials are weather sensitive and the construction schedule may be impacted by weather delays.
