Sheriff’s Office Celebrates Promotions of 19 Employees
On October 17, the Sheriff’s Office held a ceremony and celebration to recognize the professional achievements of 19 employees who have earned promotions since the beginning of 2022.
Dozens of family members and friends of the honorees attended the program, something that was not possible at the time of earlier promotions due to the pandemic. As the program began, the Honor Guard presented the colors, retired Master Deputy Kevin Brown sang the national anthem, and Master Deputy Todd Stubblefield delivered the invocation.
Chief Deputy Shelbert Williams served as emcee and provided opening remarks. Chief Williams noted that when Sheriff Casey took office in January 2022, he had plans and ideas for advancing the organization and that he was dependent on a management team to make that happen, a team that now includes all of the promotees who were being recognized. Chief Williams told the promotees that Sheriff Casey’s “expectations for you are high, and he is confident that you can meet and exceed them. You should have the same drive as he does for relentless forward progress.”
The ceremony continued with members of the event committee introducing each of the promotees, sharing highlights of their careers, and acknowledging family members and colleagues who had encouraged and inspired them. Sheriff Casey presented each honoree with a certificate and thanked them for their commitment.
Congratulations to the following promotees (in alphabetical order):
Sergeant Frederick Amponsem
Sergeant Charles Beeghly
Sergeant Cassandra Branch
Sergeant Corey Bryant

In his closing remarks, Sheriff Casey thanked the family and friends for their support and the event committee for their work. He addressed the honorees and told them that their “promotion is an acknowledgement of how well you have served our community and ASO, and it comes with the expectation that you will teach those under your command the same.” He also thanked them for their willingness to take on the awesome responsibility of leadership.
