Schedule of Services for the Christmas Holiday Week -- Updated 12/22/2014 12:38:16 PM

All City of Alexandria government offices will be closed on Wednesday, December 24; Thursday, December 25; and Friday, December 26, in observance of the Christmas holidays. Residential refuse and recycling will be collected on Wednesday, December 24. There is no collection scheduled on Thursday, December 25; and Thursday’s collection will take place on Friday, December 26.

Alexandria Commission for the Arts Seeks Nominations for the 2012 Alex Arts Awards

The Alexandria Commission for the Arts is seeking nominations for the 2012 Alex Arts Awards. The Alex Awards’ program recognizes individuals, organizations, schools, and businesses that have made exceptional contributions to cultural life in the City of Alexandria, and promotes interest and involvement in the arts by recognizing those who have excelled in their contribution to the arts in Alexandria. The deadline to nominate is 5 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2012.

Nominations may be submitted online by visiting http://survey.alexandriava.gov/s3/AlexAwards or may be mailed or hand delivered to the Office of the Arts at the Durant Arts Center, 1605 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA 22314.
