Alexandria City Council to Hold Retreat on Saturday, October 25
Retreat Focuses on FY 2009 and FY 2010 Budgets

The Alexandria City Council invites residents to join them for the annual City Council Retreat on Saturday, October 25, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the T&ES and Recreation Maintenance Operations Facilities, 2900 Business Center Drive. The purpose of the retreat is to discuss the City’s economic outlook, Fiscal Year (FY) 2009 spending reduction plans, and priorities for the FY 2010 budget.

A focal point of the retreat will be a discussion on the outlook for the Operating Budget and Capital Improvement Program (CIP) for Fiscal Year 2010, which will include a preliminary revenue outlook, City and Schools CIP priorities and financing options, and a Council discussion on budget guidance for the coming year. City staff will also provide an update on the implementation of Economic Sustainability Work Group recommendations and a presentation on the City’s Eco-City initiatives.
