Alexandria Fire Department Responds to House Fire at 402 Woodland Terrace

Alexandria Fire and EMS units responded to a house fire at approximately 2:11 p.m., Sunday, July 27, 2008, in the Beverly Hills section of Alexandria. The single-family home is located at 402 Woodland Terrace.

First arriving units encountered fire in the attic area of the single family home. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the attic space. It took firefighters approximately 15 minutes to bring the fire under control. All the occupants escaped without injury when the fire broke out. Red Cross assistance was not needed.
Damage is estimated at $15,000.

According to fire investigators, the fire was accidental. A lightning strike on the roof during a thunderstorm caused the fire.
