Parker-Gray Ad Hoc Design Guidelines Work GroupResidential Reference Guide (adopted December 12, 2012) INTERIM Residential Reference Guide (to be used prior to amending the zoning ordinance) The Parker-Gray BAR established the Parker-Gray Ad Hoc Design Guidelines Work Group on Nov. 30, 2011 in order to further streamline the BAR approval process, allow for the wider use of modern materials, and reduce the BAR fees. The group met for a period of over 10 months and early on made recommendations for fee reductions which were approved by City Council in June 2012. The group forwarded their recommended changes to the Parker-Gray BAR for their approval on October 24, 2012. The BAR met three times in the fall of 2012 and ultimately adopted the majority of the group’s recommendations, contained within the Residential Reference Guide, on December 12, 2012. The adopted changes to the Parker-Gray Historic District represent a fundamental change in the way that residential buildings in the Parker-Gray Historic District are regulated and reviewed. Many of the adopted changes are already in effect; others will require a text amendment to the zoning ordinance before they can be initiated. The Interim Residential Reference Guide is now being used by BAR staff to determine the appropriate level of BAR review prior to the zoning ordinance change. BAR staff will be using the BAR-approved documents as the outline for new Design Guidelines for the Parker-Gray Historic District. In the meantime, please contact staff for guidance in applying for BAR approval within the Parker-Gray Historic District, or if you have any questions or concerns. Other Related Documents & Links:
