Alexandria Transit Company Announces January Service Changes

Alexandria Transit Company (ATC) reminds residents of service changes to the DASH system that will take effect on January 20, 2008:

  • The AT2 route will be split into two separate routes, with the AT2 route operating on the current alignment between Braddock Road Metrorail Station and Lincolnia Road. The new AT1 route will operate on the current AT2 alignment between Seminary Plaza and Eisenhower Avenue Metrorail Station.

  • Weekday midday service on the AT7 route between King and Royal Streets and the Lee Center will be eliminated. However, the midday AT4 route will be extended to the Lee Center from its current terminating point at City Hall.

  • Saturday service on the AT7 route between the King Street Metro Station and the Lee Center will be eliminated. However, the Saturday AT4 route will be extended to the Lee Center from its current terminating point at City Hall.

"These changes are being implemented to improve service reliability and on-time performance," stated Sandy Modell, ATC’s General Manager. Ridership increases and increased traffic congestion have impacted the overall running time on the AT2 and AT7 routes.

New schedules are available on the DASH web site. New printed schedules will also be available before the changes take effect. For more information, please call 703.370-3274 or visit www.dashbus.com.
