2015 Commuter Challenge Registration

The City of Alexandria invites all Alexandria employers to sign up for the 2015 Commuter Challenge, a FREE event that runs from April 13 through 24. The Challenge is an annual competition between Alexandria businesses that rewards commuters for using sustainable forms of transportation, instead of driving alone to and from work. Encourage your employees to walk, bike, carpool, vanpool, take transit or telework for chances to win locally-sponsored prizes and help your company win the competition.  Registration is limited.

Anthony Foxx Challenges Mayors to Protect Pedestrians and Cyclists

Mayor Euille has accepted U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx's challenge to improve safety for bicyclists and pedestrians of all ages and abilities over the next year. On 2/22 Foxx unveiled the “Mayor’s Challenge for Safer People and Safer Streets” at the U.S. Conference of Mayors Transportation Committee meeting in Washington.
