Virginia Railway Express (VRE) in the US has launched a new mobile ticketing app, VRE Mobile, which allows passengers to board commuter trains without paper tickets. Developed by VRE in partnership with GlobeSherpa, the new ticketing app will allow riders easily
AAA Mid-Atlantic announced it is launching bicycle roadside assistance as part of its service. AAA members do not need to do anything to have their bicycles included. The bicycle coverage is now automatically embedded into each current level of membership. If a member's bike breaks down, AAA Mid-Atlantic will send a service vehicle to carry the member and their bicycle to a bicycle shop, home or another safe location. Members should call 1-800-AAA-HELP for service.
The first “advisory bike lanes” in the region were installed in
Alexandria on Potomac Greens Drive between Massey Lane and Carpenter Road.
Advisory bike lanes are marked with a dashed outside line. These lanes at
provide dedicated space for cyclists, but allow vehicles to cross the dashed
line if they need additional space in the roadway.
