Quench Your Thirst for History at Historic Beer Dinner

Gadsby’s Tavern Museum Serving History-Inspired Beers and Cuisine May 27

Ales of the RevolutionSavor the flavors of American history at the Historic Beer Dinner at Gadsby’s Tavern Museum, 134 North Royal Street, at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 27. This culinary adventure pairs history-inspired beers from Yards Brewery of Philadelphia with a four-course meal fit for George Washington. A great way to make this Memorial Day weekend truly memorable!

This delectable dinner features beers from Yards’ Ales of the Revolution, authentically crafted brews inspired by the 18th-century recipes of founding fathers Washington, Jefferson and Franklin. Guests will enjoy their appetizers with Saison, a Belgian-style ale available only during the warm months, as a Yards representative discusses historic brewing. Then guests will be seated at Gadsby’s Tavern Restaurant for a seasonal green salad topped with grilled salmon paired with Thomas Jefferson’s Tavern Ale and followed by a rosemary pork tenderloin entrée served with roasted vegetables on a bed of rice and paired with Richard’s Tavern Spruce Ale. Following dinner, delight in dessert with Porter Chocolate Truffles, made by Rob Kingsbury of Alexandria’s own ACKC, and paired with Washington’s Tavern Porter.

Tickets are $85 inclusive per person, and reservations are required. A vegetarian entrée option is available with advance notice. For more information or to make reservations, please call 703.746.4242 or visit www.gadsbystavern.org.

In the late 18th and early 19th centuries, Gadsby’s Tavern was the center of social and political life in Alexandria and the new Federal City of Washington.  The tavern served as the premier gathering place for residents – including George Washington – and visitors to eat, drink, learn, and influence history.
