The Potomac Yard Metrorail Station project reached its next milestone, as City of Alexandria staff issued a report recommending Alternative B as the best location for the new station. Alternative B was recommended as the station location would allow for the creation of a transit-oriented, mixed-use community in North Potomac Yard with vital transportation and economic benefits for the City. The report, along with the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) published on March 27, will be the subject of eight public meetings and hearings prior to City Council’s consideration on May 20.
Sponsored by the League of American Bicyclists, National Bike Month is a 31-day celebration of travel by two wheels. There are events, classes, biking planning meetings, advisory committees all going on this month in the City.
