City of Alexandria Invites Residents to Visit Northern Virginia Housing Expo

2024 Northern Virginia Housing Expo Returns with March 23 Event at Manassas' Charles Colgan High School
14th Annual Free Public Event Offers Classes, Coaching, and Experts for Renters and First-Time Buyers
Renters and first-time buyers looking to live in Northern Virginia are invited to visit the 2024 Northern Virginia Housing Expo, a free regional housing fair, at Charles Colgan High School (13833 Dumfries Rd, Manassas, VA) on March 23 from 10 am to 3 pm. The public event, a partnership of local, state and federal housing agencies and other stakeholders, showcases both first time homeownership and rental opportunities and resources throughout Northern Virginia. Visitors to the Expo will be able to speak with experts in the exhibit hall, attend informational workshops, and receive free individual financial coaching from certified coaches.
The Expo includes workshops and exhibits on a range of topics such as becoming and staying creditworthy; first-time buyer programs; rent-readiness programs; the local housing market; senior housing resources; reverse mortgages; tenant rights and responsibilities; and more. A Spanish-language workshop on buying, renting and maintaining good credit will also take place at 11 am. Visitors will have the opportunity to sign up for a financial coaching session with a trained volunteer from Britepaths, a Fairfax County nonprofit.
In addition to the in-person Expo on March 23, a virtual version of the Expo available all year at NoVaHousingExpo.org. This virtual Expo features an online exhibit hall, dozens of webinars, a library of five-minute videos on specific aspects of the home-buying process, and the opportunity to sign up for free virtual financial coaching with a certified, trained volunteer from Britepaths in English or Spanish.
The Expo is made possible thanks to a cooperative effort among Prince William, Fairfax, Arlington and Loudoun Counties; the Cities of Alexandria, Falls Church and Manassas Park; Virginia Housing; the US Department of Housing and Urban Development; Northern Virginia Association of Realtors®; and the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments.
