Alexandria City Council to Vote on FY 2025 Budget and Tax Rate
Alexandria, Va. — The City of Alexandria City Council will vote on the Fiscal Year 2025 (FY 2025) Budget and Tax Rate on Wednesday, May 1, at 6 p.m. The vote will occur in person at City Hall, Council Chambers (301 King St.) and streamed on the City’s website.
The FY2025 Budget was first proposed to Council on February 27 by City Manager James Parajon. In the months following the City Manager’s presentation, there have been six work sessions and four public hearings.
During this time, City Council has listened to the feedback of community members and deliberated on what should be added and deleted from the proposed budget. Once voted upon, the FY 2025 Budget will go into effect starting July 1, 2024, and last until June 30, 2025.
