City of Alexandria Announces New Deputy City Manager
The City of Alexandria welcomes Alethea Predeoux as its new Deputy City Manager, effective Monday, March 18.
As Deputy City Manager, Predeoux’s responsibilities will focus on community health and human services and employee support.
“I’m thrilled that we were able to find such a qualified candidate to fill the Deputy City Manager position,” said City Manager James Parajon. “Ms. Predeoux’s experience and success in personnel and healthcare will prove invaluable to the Alexandria community and the well-being of City employees."
“I would also like to thank Finance Director Kendel Taylor and Director of Human Rights and Acting Human Resources Director Jean Kelleher for filling in so admirably as Interim Deputy City Managers. Their strong work and flexibility allowed us time to identify the strongest candidate.”
Predeoux comes to Alexandria from the United States Office of Personnel Management (OPM), where she was Chief of Staff. In that capacity, she worked to ensure successful operation of the agency’s daily function. Before OPM, Predeoux worked in healthcare policy and labor for groups including Paralyzed Veterans of America and the American Federation of Government Employees, AFL-CIO.
A long-time resident of Alexandria, Predeoux is a graduate of Spelman College with a master’s degree from George Mason University’s Schar School of Policy and Government.
