Celebrate Women's History Month in the City of Alexandria
As the City of Alexandria approaches its 275th birthday, we join a global celebration honoring the social, economic, and cultural achievements of women who have played pivotal roles in shaping our local community.
Share Experiences and Celebrate Achievements
Throughout March, the City will amplify many of the collective achievements of women who live, work, or reside in our neighborhoods. Join us in exploring how these accomplishments "Inspire Inclusion," this year's theme for International Women's Day. Participate in immersive programming and discover public services available for women, youth, and families.

Take a "Snapshot" at Alexandria City Hall
Visit Market Square at City Hall to view flags honoring the U.S. Women’s Suffragette Movement of the early 20th Century. In the evenings, City Hall will illuminate in purple, white, and gold, recognizing Alexandria's courageous women who fought for voting rights.
