George Washington's Birthday Schedule of Services for the City of Alexandria
City of Alexandria government offices will be closed Monday, February 19, in observance of George Washington's Birthday.
Other schedule changes and closures are listed below.
Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS)
Monday, February 19: Closed.
Alexandria Transit Company (DASH)
Monday, February 19: DASH bus service will operate on a Saturday schedule. Alexandria Transit Company administrative offices will be closed.
The free King Street Trolley operates from King Street Metro to City Hall/Market Square with service every 15 minutes, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., every day.
Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (AWLA)
Monday, February 19: Open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Adoptions begin at noon.

Courts
Monday, February 19: The General District Court, Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, Court Service Unit, Circuit Court, and the Clerk of Circuit Court will be closed.
Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)
Monday, February 19: Closed.

Health Facilities
Monday, February 19: Alexandria Health Department, Flora Krause Casey Health Center, and the Teen Wellness Center will be closed.
Historic Alexandria
Monday, February 19: The Freedom House Museum, Gadsby’s Tavern Museum, Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum, and Friendship Firehouse Museum will be open from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. All other museums will be closed.
Impound Lot
Monday, February 19: Closed.
The City’s impound lot is closed on all weekends and observed City holidays. Fees will continue to accrue on Saturday and Sunday, but not on holidays.
Libraries
Monday, February 19: All Alexandria Library branches will be closed.
Parking
Monday, February 19: The Alexandria Police Department will suspend enforcement of parking restrictions at metered spaces and residential permit parking districts. This suspension of enforcement applies only to the restrictions at legal parking spaces and does not permit parking in any normally prohibited location. Temporary no-parking signs will be enforced.
Recreation, Nature and Arts Centers
Monday, February 19: Chinquapin Park Recreation Center and Aquatics Facility, Charles Houston Recreation, and Patrick Henry Recreation Centers will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All other City of Alexandria recreation and nature centers will be closed.
Resource Recovery
Residential refuse, recycling, and yard waste will be delayed by one day during the week of Monday, February 19. The Household Hazardous Waste & Electronics Recycling Center will be closed on that day.
Curbside food waste will follow the normal collection service schedule.
Torpedo Art Factory
Monday, February 19: Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. according to its standard operating schedule.
