City Schedule of Services for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
All City of Alexandria government offices will be closed Monday, January 15, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS)
Monday, January 15: Closed
Alexandria Transit Company (DASH)
Monday, January 15: DASH bus service will operate on a Saturday schedule. The Alexandria Transit Company administrative offices will be closed.
The free King Street Trolley operates from King Street Metro to City Hall/Market Square with service every 15 minutes, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day.
Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (AWLA)
Monday, January 15: Open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Adoptions begin at noon.

Courts
Monday, January 15: The General District Court, Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, Court Service Unit, Circuit Court, and the Clerk of Circuit Court will be closed.
Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)
Monday, January 15: Closed

Health Facilities
Monday, January 15: Alexandria Health Department, Flora Krause Casey Health Center, and the Teen Wellness Center will be closed.
Historic Alexandria
Monday, January 15: The Freedom House Museum will be open from 1-5 p.m. All other museums will be closed.
Impound Lot
Monday, January 15: Closed
The City’s impound lot is closed on all weekends and observed City holidays. Fees will continue to accrue on Saturday and Sunday, but not on holidays.
Libraries
Monday, January 15: All City Libraries will be closed.
Parking
Monday, January 15: The Alexandria Police Department will suspend enforcement of parking restrictions at metered spaces and residential permit parking districts. This suspension of enforcement applies only to the restrictions at legal parking spaces and does not permit parking in any normally prohibited location. Temporary no-parking signs will be enforced.
Recreation, Nature and Arts Centers
On Monday, January 15, Chinquapin Park Recreation Center and Aquatics Facility, Charles Houston Recreation Center, and Patrick Henry Recreation Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All other City of Alexandria recreation and nature centers will be closed.
Resource Recovery
Residential refuse, recycling, and yard waste will be delayed by one day during the week of January 15. The Household Hazardous Waste & Electronics Recycling Center will be closed on Monday, January 15.
Curbside food waste will follow the normal collection service schedule.
Torpedo Art Factory
Monday, January 15: Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
