Alexandria Mentoring Partnership Hosts Open House
Alexandria Mentoring Partnership Hosts Open House
For Immediate Release: July 12, 2022
Are you interested in being a mentor and positive role model? The Alexandria Mentoring Partnership (AMP) is hosting a Mentor Open House on Tuesday, July 19 at Market Square (300 King St.). There will be two sessions, 2:30 to 4 p.m. or 5 to 7 p.m.
Take this opportunity to engage with over 15 different mentoring programs in the City of Alexandria, hear personal reflections from mentors and mentees, and learn about how to become a mentor in your community.
The work of the AMP supports close to 300 mentoring relationships annually in collaboration with faith-based and nonprofit organizations, Alexandria City Public Schools and our community residents. The mentoring programs vary in structure and ask for the ability to commit to mentoring for at least one hour, once a week, for one year.
At the heart of all AMP programs lies a common belief that mentoring positively impacts youth development, and that every child in the City who needs a mentor should have one.
