The Alexandria Police Department Charges A Suspect in Double Shooting

(*UPDATE 8/23/22 1:00 p.m. *): Francis Rose, 27, no fixed address, has been charged in connection with the murders of Adrian Dejesus Rivera Guzman and Juan Carlos Anaya Hernandez. Mr. Rose is charged with two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of firearm use in commission of a felony. Mr. Rose was arrested on the day of the incident and continues to be held at the William G. Truesdale Adult Detention Center in Alexandria.

(*UPDATE 7/18/22 12:00 p.m. *): The decedents in this incident are Adrian Dejesus Rivera Guzman, 48 and Juan Carlos Anaya Hernandez, 24.
There is a suspect in custody, arrested on unrelated charges.

ALEXANDRIA, VA. – The Alexandria Police Department is investigating an incident that was initiated as a residential burglary call for service at approximately 7:28 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2022, in the 100 block of Century Drive.
Subsequently, a second call for service believed to be connected to this incident was received for shots fired in the 200 block of Century Drive.
During this incident, two persons were shot and killed. One person succumbed to their injuries on scene, and the other was transported to the hospital and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
APD has a person of interest in custody and believes that there is no further threat to the public related to this incident.
