About the Alexandria Permit Center
The Alexandria Permit Center is a multi-agency center for citizens, businesses, and visitors to obtain construction related permits at one central location. The permit center includes staff members from the Alexandria Departments of Code Administration, Finance, Planning & Zoning, and Transportation & Environmental Services. In our efforts to provide the best customer service in the region, the Alexandria Permit Center Team also has Small Business and Residential Facilitators to assist homeowners and small businesses through the construction permitting process.

The Permit Center Closes at 2:00p.m. on the first Monday of every month.
All Building, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, Fire Protection Systems, Sign, and
Demolition Permit Applications must be submitted through the Alexandria Online Permit Center.
For your convenience, the Alexandria Permit Center provides customer access to kiosks
to submit permit applications electronically if you need to visit the Permit Center.
