Alexandria Police Investigate Suspicious Death

Alexandria police are investigating the apparent murder of a man in the 200 block of South Whiting.  This evening, around 8:30 P.M., police were called to South Whiting Street for the report of shots fired.  Upon arrival, officer discovered the victim.  The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are on the scene, conducting an investigation into the incident.

The victim, whose identity is not yet known, suffered from a gun shot wound.  An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
