Hosts Nation’s Largest George Washington Day Parade

On Monday, February 16, the City will celebrate the 277th birthday of its most famous citizen by holding the largest George Washington birthday parade in the United States. Many streets George Washington once walked will be shut down for the parade, which begins at 1 p.m. at the intersection of Wilkes Street and South St. Asaph Street. The parade route is as follows:

  • North on Saint Asaph Street to Queen Street
  • East on Queen Street to Royal Street
  • South on Royal Street to King Street
  • East on King Street to Fairfax Street
  • South on Fairfax Street to the end point, Fairfax Street and Gibbon Street

The reviewing stand is on the west side of Royal Street at Cameron Street. Access for people with disabilities is located across from the reviewing stand on the east side of Royal Street at Cameron Street; accessible parking is available on Cameron Street between North Royal Street and North Fairfax Street.
