FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 10, 2008
Public Hearing on Proposed Renovation of Patrick Henry Recreation Center
The City of Alexandria’s Park and Recreation Commission will hold a public hearing on Thursday, October 16, to discuss plans and ideas for the proposed renovation of the Patrick Henry Recreation Center. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Patrick Henry Recreation Center, 4643 Taney Ave. A regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission will follow the public hearing.
The purpose of the public hearing is to present information received from the public at the Commission’s September 2008 Public Hearing, review concept design plans and to gather additional information from residents on the proposed renovation of the Patrick Henry Recreation Center. City staff will use the information to continue developing draft design elements for the proposed renovation.
Following the public hearing, the Commission will hear comments from residents on any park and recreation-related issue. As part of its ongoing effort to offer additional opportunities for residents to provide input on park and recreation issues, the Commission will continue to schedule future public hearings and regular monthly meetings at various locations throughout the City.
Persons who are unable to attend can send written comments to the Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities, Attention: William Chesley, 1108 Jefferson St., Alexandria, VA 22314, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday, October 31, 2008.
