Virginia Railway Express (VRE) in the US has launched a new mobile ticketing app, VRE Mobile, which allows passengers to board commuter trains without paper tickets. Developed by VRE in partnership with GlobeSherpa, the new ticketing app will allow riders easily
AAA Mid-Atlantic announced it is launching bicycle roadside assistance as part of its service. AAA members do not need to do anything to have their bicycles included. The bicycle coverage is now automatically embedded into each current level of membership. If a member's bike breaks down, AAA Mid-Atlantic will send a service vehicle to carry the member and their bicycle to a bicycle shop, home or another safe location. Members should call 1-800-AAA-HELP for service.
On May 20, the City Council voted unanimously to endorse the construction of a new Potomac Yard Metrorail Station and select “Alternative B” as the preferred location. The designation of a Locally Preferred Alternative (LPA) is a key milestone in the process to build this Metrorail station, and now permits the development of a Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for expected release this winter.
