Schedule of Services for the Christmas Holiday Week -- Updated 12/22/2014 12:38:16 PM

All City of Alexandria government offices will be closed on Wednesday, December 24; Thursday, December 25; and Friday, December 26, in observance of the Christmas holidays. Residential refuse and recycling will be collected on Wednesday, December 24. There is no collection scheduled on Thursday, December 25; and Thursday’s collection will take place on Friday, December 26.

UPDATE:  Alexandria Police Locate Missing Person

Alexandria Police have located Jacqueline Velez.  Velez was found in Fairfax County.  She was unharmed.

Alexandria Police Seek Public’s Help in Locating Missing Person

Alexandria Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a woman who was reported missing on January 1, 2011.  Jacqueline Velez, 25, was last seen at the Alexandria City Homeless Shelter located at 2355B Mill Road.  Velez is pregnant.

She is described as 5’1”, 135 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.  Velez has two tattoos on her right arm that read “Love is Blind” and “Tony”.  She also has a tattoo on her right thigh that says “Giggles”.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Jacqueline Velez is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Section of the Alexandria Police Department at 703.838.4444 or the Crime Solvers tip line at 703.838.4858.
