Alexandria Police Investigate Sexual Assault on Wheeler Avenue

Alexandria Police are investigating a sexual assault that occurred Saturday, January 2, at 4:00 p.m, in the 3900 block of Wheeler Avenue.  A 16 year-old female was walking on the sidewalk and listening to music when she was grabbed from behind by a man.  The suspect pulled the victim into an area that was away from the road and sexually assaulted her.  The suspect is described as possibly Hispanic with dark hair.

Anyone with information about this incident or who might have been in the area is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Section of the Alexandria Police Department at 703.838.4444 or the Crime Solvers tip line at 703.838.4858. 

Detectives would like to remind witnesses that they can remain anonymous.
