2013 Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities Needs Assessment Findings Are In!The City of Alexandria Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities conducted a citywide Needs Assessment survey during Summer/Fall 2013. The purpose of the survey was to establish priorities for the future development of Alexandria’s parks, recreation, cultural facilities, programs and services based on identified community needs.
On May 6, City Council adopted a $624.8 million General Fund Operating Budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2014, an increase of 6.3% from FY 2013. Despite challenging economic conditions, the goal of the Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities is to maintain its core services. As costs continue to increase in providing core services to residents, some service adjustments have been made.
