All City of Alexandria government offices will be closed on Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28, in observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday. Residential trash and recycling will be collected on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, beginning at 6 a.m.

City of Alexandria Announces Reduced Outdoor Pools Hours for 2012 Season

Beginning Monday, August 20, the City of Alexandria outdoor pools will return to a limited schedule. City outdoor pools will be open through Monday, September 3 as follows:

  • The Memorial Pool
    Charles Houston Recreation Center
    901 Wythe St. - (Cross St.: Patrick) - 703.519.3756
    • Operating Hours August 20 - September 3:
      • Monday - Friday: Noon to 6 p.m.
    • Extended Hours:
      • Tuesday & Thursday: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
      • Saturday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
      • Sunday: Noon to 6 p.m
  • Old Town Pool
    1609 Cameron St. - (Cross St.: Harvard) - 703.548.3776
    • Operating Hours August 20 - September 3:
      • Monday – Friday: 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
      • Weekends & Labor Day: noon – 7 p.m.
  • Warwick Pool
    3301 Landover St. - (Cross St.: Burgess) - 703.684.6877
    • Operating Hours August 20- September 3:
      • Monday – Friday: 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
      • Weekends & Labor Day: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
