As part of the Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan Update the City has developed an online survey and interactive map to collect input on existing walking, bicycle issues, needs, and ideas for improving the environment for walking and biking. The survey and map are available in English and Spanish and will be available for input through early October 2014. The first public meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 30 from 7-9 p.m. at the Minnie Howard Campus (Media Room) of TC Williams High School located at 3801 West Braddock Road.
Sponsored by the City of Alexandria, the Van Start and Van Save programs provides temporary funding (up to $2,000) for vanpools having trouble filling all of their seats. The Van Start Program, which funds empty seats during the critical start up phase of new vanpools; and the Van Save Program, which is for existing vanpools that are experiencing problems in their passenger levels due to the loss of riders.
