The Alexandria Police Department Investigates Homicide

*Update (March 8, 2023, 5:00 p.m.)*:: The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has ruled that the cause of death is homicide. The victim in this homicide is Mr. Kyren Eley, 19 years of age, a non-city resident.

ALEXANDRIA, VA. – The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred in the 200 block of South Reynolds Street.
On March 3, 2023, at approximately 11:35 p.m., officers responded to a call for service for a man shot. Officers discovered a man with trauma to his upper body and rendered first aid until rescue personnel arrived. The victim was then transported a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to identify the victim and make the final determination on the cause and manner of death.
