Alexandria Fire Station 210 & Impound Lot Project
Background
Fire Station 210, which will be located at 5255 Eisenhower Avenue, is part of the City's Capital Improvement Program. The station, which was approved by City Council in 2008, will provide enhanced emergency response time to Alexandria's West End, with close proximity to the Norfolk Southern Ethanol Transloading Facility (an area of much concern to residents in the community). The station will also provide additional Fire Department classroom and training facilities, and community meeting space. Funding for this $16 million project will also support the improvement of the City impound lot located at Eisenhower Avenue and the addition of a new impound lot at 3000 Business Center Drive.
