Recycling at Schools
Recycling Requirements
Public and Private elementary, secondary, and higher education facilities are responsible for providing recycling for students, staff, employees and tenants under the requirements described under Article H of Title 5, which was unanimously approved by City Council in February 2006.
Education and Outreach
With Robbie the Recycling Squirrel, elementary school students can learn about the recycling process first-hand. Along with Robbie, the recycling educator makes scheduled on-site visits to schools, recreation centers, and youth groups to conduct recycling presentations. Youth will learn about recycling, reuse, waste reduction, recycled-content products, household hazardous waste, and other environmental issues.
