Solid Waste Division
Alexandria Is Working To Improve Your Environment!
The T&ES Division of Solid Waste, which is located in the T&ES Operations building at 133 S. Quaker Ln., has been providing refuse collection services for over half a century. Through the years, the names and faces of the Solid Waste Division employees have changed, but their commitment to providing public services in a professional and courteous manner remains unchanged.
In this era of heightened concern for the environment, the City's solid waste services are more important than ever before. It is the Division's goal to provide services that protect the environment and respond to the needs of the community at the least possible cost. Accomplishing this goal requires a cooperative effort between Alexandria citizens, businesses, and City government.
Alexandria collects refuse and recyclable materials curbside. The City also collects white goods (stoves, washers, dryers, refrigerators, hot water heaters, etc.) on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. To schedule a white goods pick-up, please call 703.519.3486.
In the fall, the City collects leaves from City streets and recycles the leaves into mulch. The mulch is made available in the spring to residents. To contact the Solid Waste Division, please call 703.519.3486 or email askrobbie@alexandriava.gov. To report a missed trash or recycling pick-up, please call the Solid Waste Division, rather than email, for prompt service.
