A Message from the Mayor
There is something for everyone this fall in the City of Alexandria. Choose from a variety of classes ranging from swim instruction to dance, and from dog obedience to out of school time programs.
On September 13 and 14, Historic Old Town Alexandria will be transformed into an open air art show; October brings Art on the Avenue and the Family Fall Festival; and on Friday, November 28, join me at the City’s Annual Tree Lighting program at Market Square, featuring a visit from Santa Claus, and officially opening the holiday season in the City. December brings the sounds of the season at a variety of holiday events beginning with the 44th Annual Campagna Center Scottish Walk Parade and culminating with First Night Alexandria on New Year’s Eve.
I encourage all residents to take advantage of the activities and facilities the Department offers. Visit www.alexandriava.gov/Recreation for a complete list of City community events and activities. Save this Program Guide and refer to it often.
