Explorer Program
This club is a subdivision of Boy Scouts of America for young adults ages 14-21 who are interested in a career in law enforcement. The Post enables members to get an inside view of police work and offers leadership and law enforcement training. The Post also provides assistance with public service functions such as traffic/crowd control and child fingerprinting identification programs. Law Enforcement Exploring offers good practical experience and encourages community involvement.
The Police Department Explorer Post (703-838-4520) is affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America and serves young adults from 14 to 20 years of age. Explorers learn about police work and perform community services such as marking valuables for Operation Identification, distributing pamphlets, and assisting with logistics at parades and other special events. For information on joining the Post, contact the Crime Prevention Unit at 703-838-4520.
