City Wins Financial Reporting Award

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the City a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, the highest award given for excellence in governmental financial reporting, for the City’s Fiscal Year 2011 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). This is the 34th consecutive year that the City has received this award. The GFOA awards a certificate to governmental units that display excellence in financial reporting and conform to stringent reporting requirements endorsed by that association and other authoritative bodies.

2012 Outdoor Pool Season Begins

The Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities has announced that the Old Town and Warwick Pools will open on a limited basis, beginning Saturday, May 26. For a complete list of City pools, operating hours, fees and additional information, visit alexandriava.gov/Pools.
