The Alexandria Transit Company (DASH), in partnership with the Advocates for Alexandria Aquatics (AAA), and the City of Alexandria Department of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities (RPCA), have announced a new Splash with DASH initiative to get families and children to the Old Town Pool this summer. Approximately a dozen local businesses, along with the support of the USA Swimming Foundation – Make a Splash, are sponsoring free rides during July and August on DASH’s AT10 route, which provides service between Potomac Yard and the King Street Metro, via the neighborhoods of Arlandria, Warwick Village, Del Ray, and Rosemont.
The City’s Department of Transportation &
Environmental Services began work to pave sections of Holmes Run Trail (between
Duke and Ripley Streets and near Tarleton Park), Taney Avenue Path (between
Raleigh and N. Gordon Streets), and the Mt. Vernon Trail (between First and
Pendleton Streets), weather permitting. Through the end of
July, bicyclists and pedestrians
should expect minor daytime delays and closures from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday
through Friday. For

The current location by the King Street Metro will be closing on June 19, 2015, but we look forward to continuing to serve you as the mobile store moves throughout the City. You will be able to purchase bus passes, add money to your SmarTrip card, sign up for Guaranteed Ride Home, and get commuting advice at a location that is convenient for you. The mobile store will have consistent stops each month and will attend City special events throughout the year.
Arlington and the State have partnered on a new trip planner, called CarFreeAtoZ, which is going make commuting without having to drive alone much more easier! Beta testing is coming to an end but developers are still incorporating and receiving feedback
