Need a bike light or check up? We can help! In an effort to help make sure bicyclists are safely visible to motorist and others as we get closer to daylight savings, Local Motion, in partnership with VéloCity will be providing and installing bike lights at its annual Lights for Bikes event. VéloCity will also being doing general bike checkups. The event will be held at the Braddock Rd. Metro Station from 4:30 to 6 pm on Tuesday, October 28. In order to get a light you need to bring your bike and of course not already have a light. All bikes can get the free checkup.

Registration is now open for Alexandria Library’s second annual bicycle tour of all Alexandria Library locations. On Saturday, October 25, 2014 make sure to bring your bike and join library staff for a leisurely 2-hour loop starting and ending at Duncan Branch Library, 2501 Commonwealth Ave.

Pedestrian and Bicycle Path Closings

Due to the Cameron Run Weir Repair, the southern Eisenhower Avenue shared use pedestrian and bicycle path from adjacent to the water park to Bluestone Road will be closed Mondays through Fridays from approximately 7 to 5 pm. During this closure, the northern Eisenhower Avenue shared use path  will remain open.
