Mediation in Custody Cases

In most situations the best people to make decisions about children are the parents themselves. In keeping with that concept, some of the employees of the Court Service Unit are certified mediators who work with parents to solve custody disputes.

Mediation Services are offered in all custody and visitation cases where there has been no domestic violence and where the parents and relatives, if needed, are involved in coming to a solution of the problem that is facing the family. The Judges and the Court Service Unit encourage settlement of these disputes in hopes that it will help the parents and the child to live in harmony.
