City of Alexandria government offices and facilities are closed Tuesday, Feb. 9.  Emergency services personnel should report as scheduled.  Trash and recycling collection scheduled for Feb. 9 will not be collected until Feb. 16. DASH will be operating a Saturday schedule beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9th, with some route modifications.  See the DASH Web site for details.

City-owned, 65-bed emergency shelter operated by the Salvation Army. Provides shelter for men, women and families. For more information contact the Office of Community Services at 703.746.5901.

Winter Hypothermia Shelter

Provides overnight shelter during the winter months from November through March at Carpenter’s Shelter and local churches. 703.548.7500.

Eviction Storage

Provides furniture storage and emergency shelter referrals for eligible low-income households facing immediate eviction or foreclosure. Please contact the Office of Community Services at 703.746.5901.

Crisis Child Care

Provides child care assistance to persons in the shelters seeking employment. Please contact Office of Community Services 703.746.5901.
