Program Implementation Division

The Program Implementation Division administers the following activities:

• Annual Homeownership Fair: This annual event typically takes place in the spring and provides an opportunity for low and moderate income City residents and workers to learn about the home purchase process and homeownership opportunities in the City of Alexandria.
• Home Rehabilitation Loan Program: No-interest, deferred-payment loans for the rehabilitation of owner-occupied homes, including condominiums;
• Grants for retrofitting of rental units for persons with disabilities;
• Homeownership Assistance Programs: Homeownership opportunities for low- and moderate-income households through assistance with down payments, principal and interest write-downs, and closing costs.

• Below-market interest rate loans for first-time homebuyers using the Virginia Housing Development Authority programs;
• Marketing of new construction homeownership units available through the affordable set-aside units program;
• Neighborhood Stabilization: In July 2009, Alexandria partnered with a consortium of local member jurisdictions to apply for funding through the second and competitive round of the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP2)
