Directions

The Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Shop is located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, near many shops, restaurants, and other museums and historic sites. Alexandria is half-way between Washington, D.C. and Mount Vernon.

From Washington, D.C., and National Airport
Take the George Washington Parkway south, past the airport, into Alexandria. The Parkway becomes Washington Street in the City. Go about a mile, past Queen Street, and turn left on Cameron Street, opposite Christ Church. Go four block, past City Hall, and turn right on North Fairfax Street. Go one block, past King Street, and the museum will be on your right.

From I-95/I-495 (Capital Beltway)
Take the US Route 1 North exit (first exit on the Virginia side of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge). Take your first right onto Franklin Street, go seven blocks and turn left onto South Fairfax Street. Go five blocks north, past Prince Street, and the museum will be on your left.

By Metro
Take the yellow or blue line to King Street station. Cross the parking lot and turn right, one half block to King Street. Turn right (east) on King Street and walk about down hill about 1 mile South Fairfax Street. Turn right, and the museum will be on your right. Or take the FREE King Street Trolley to King and Fairfax Streets.

By Train
Take Amtrak or Virginia Railway Express to Alexandria's Union Station (across the tracks from King Street Metro station). Upon exiting the train station, walk to your right to King Street and follow directions from Metro.

Parking

Metered Parking is available on South Fairfax Street, with two or three hour parking on nearby residential streets. Parking regulations are strictly enforced. A free 24-hour parking pass, valid at meters, is available to out-of-town visitors at the Alexandria Visitors Center at Ramsay House, at 221 King Street.
