Wizards Take on the Shooting Stars in Annual Basketball Match

The Bellefonte Wizards will soon be on the court again competing against the DCHS Shooting Stars for the prestigious Gilmore Cup. The annual basketball game between the Bellefonte Wizards, adults with intellectual disabilities who live in City residential housing and participate in activities designed to develop community relationships and connections, and staff from the Department of Community and Human Services, coached by DCHS Director Michael Gilmore, will take place Monday, December 9 at 7 p.m. at the Cora Kelly Recreation Center, 25 West Reed Ave.

The Wizards, who completed their fourth season in the Northern Virginia Special Olympic Basketball League, will attempt to continue their three-year winning streak in this annual rivalry while the Shooting Stars will seek to avenge their losses and finally send Coach Gilmore home as a winner of the Gilmore Cup! Cheer them on with staff cheerleaders.
