Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day

What is the history behind this event?

For a detailed look at this program, please visit http://www.daughersandsonstowork.org

Interested in volunteering?

This year we have established “Career Tours” in popular career fields from which the students will choose.  The students will be put into groups of three. Each themed “Career Tour” consists of three locations related to the career theme. The Commission for Women is looking for volunteers to take the students to the different locations.  The tour guide will be responsible for the students all day during the tours and must be able to drive the students.  The tour guide will also be required to complete a background check.  If you are interested in becoming a tour guide, please contact Sarah Watson at sarah.watson@alexandriava.gov or call 703.746.3123.

Why is it important?

This event is a mentoring opportunity. Showing our daughters and sons and other youth how women and men contribute to the work force and collaborate with others in a business environment helps support the creation of a more equitable world for our children.
