The Senior Policy Work Group on Gangs has the following membership:

• Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney 
• Office of Sheriff 
• Mental Health/Mental Retardation/Substance Abuse 
• Department of Human Services 
• Alexandria Police Department 
• Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities 
• Alexandria City Public Schools 
• Office of the Public DefenderAlexandria Adult Probation and Parole 
• Alexandria Office on Women 
• Northern Virginia Juvenile Detention Home 
• Alexandria Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Service Unit 

The primary job of this group is to ensure the coordination of all gang-related suppression, prevention and intervention activities that are taking place in the City, and to ensure that these City’s efforts are coordinated with similar gang-related activities that are occurring elsewhere in the region .
