Note - the following requirements are intended for residential deck projects within the limits set forth by the current City of Alexandria Deck Detail Package under 'Submittal Requirements'.

Documentation Submission Process

• Construction Application 
• Plan indicating location of proposed deck on site, including overall deck dimensions (length, width and height above grade) and distances from property-lines
• Deck Detail Package 

Plan Review Process

• Plan Review Unit 

Inspection Process

• Minimum Required Inspections:

• Footing

• Framing

• FINAL

• Schedule an Inspection 
• Procedures for a Successful Inspection
• Obtaining Inspection Results 

Certificate of Occupancy Process
