Recycling at Schools
Public and Private elementary, secondary, and higher education facilities are responsible for providing recycling for students, staff, employees and tenants under the requirements described under Article H of Title 5, which was unanimously approved by City Council in February 2006.
Education and Outreach
With Robbie the Recycling Squirrel, elementary school students can learn about the recycling process first-hand. Along with Robbie, a recycling educator makes scheduled visits to schools, recreation centers, and youth groups to conduct recycling presentations. Youth will learn about recycling, reuse, waste reduction, recycled-content products, household hazardous waste, and other environmental issues.
