The Department of Transportation and Environmental Services (T&ES) is working on a roadway improvement project along Eisenhower Avenue between Mill Road and Holland Lane. The project is funded by State Urban funds and is currently in the design phase.

What's New?

• Design Public Hearing - Thursday, April 4
  T&ES will hold a Design Public Hearing for the Eisenhower Avenue Widening and Roadway Improvement Project on Thursday, April 4 from 7-9 p.m. at the Lee Center located at 1108 Jefferson Street (Gold Room). The meeting will include preliminary plans for construction of an additional westbound left turn lane on Eisenhower Avenue at Mill Road, converting the traffic circle at Holland Lane to a “T” intersection and streetscape improvements.

Scope:

The improvements consist of:

1. Dual left turns at the Eisenhower/Mill Road intersection on westbound Eisenhower Ave.

2.  Upgrading the receiving lanes on Mill Road to accept the dual left turns from Eisenhower Ave.

3. Convert the traffic circle at Eisenhower and Holland to a "T" intersection from John Carlyle Street to Holland Lane.

4.  Upgrading the street lighting and sidewalks in front of the Simpson property.

5.  Full width resurfacing of Eisenhower Avenue between Holland Lane and Mill Road.

Project Schedule:

• Design Public Hearing: April 2013
• R/W Acquisition begins: Summer 2013
• 100% submission: Fall 2013
• Advertisement: Late 2013

• Begin Construction: Spring 2014
