An examination will be given on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at the Sheriff’s Office (2003 Mill Road in Alexandria) as the first part of the application process. Applicants must be 21 years old and bring proof of U.S. citizenship (birth certificate, naturalization paperwork or U.S. passport), valid driver's license, social security card and high school diploma or GED certificate. Check-in for the exam begins at 7 a.m. The exam will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.
