City Sponsored Sport Leagues 

 

Fall Leagues
  • Coed Soccer, Volleyball & Softball; Men's Softball; and Women's Flag Football
  • Team Registration Period: July - August
  • League Play: September - November
Winter Leagues
  • Coed Volleyball & Men's Basketball
  • Team Registration Period: October - November
  • League Play: January - March
Spring Leagues
  • Coed Soccer, Volleyball & Softball; Men's Softball; and Women's Flag Football
  • Team Registration Period: February - March
  • League Play: April - July
Summer Leagues
  • Men's Basketball
  • Team Registration Period: April - May
  • League Play: mid-June - August

Eligibility & Registration Requirements: Adult Sports Leagues are formed by team registrations, not by individual registrations. Each adult league has a limited amount of available space for teams. Teams registering prior to the established deadline date for each sport league will be accepted, up to the maximum number of teams per league. Teams will only be accepted after the posted deadline date if space is available. All adult sport league activities are divided by skill levels and play week nights.  Please call the Adult Sports Office to be placed on the Adult Sports Registration mailing list, or if you are an individual looking to be placed on the players list at 703.746.5409.

League Fees: Team fees are charged for each sport activity. In addition to the league fees, a nonresident fee of $25 will be charged to each nonresident player on the official team roster.

Current League Schedules & Standings


Johnson & Siebert Summer Basketball League  

League games will begin Tuesday, July 2. Games will be played Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at Charles Houston Recreation Center (901 Wythe St.); Cora Kelly Recreation Center (25 W. Reed Ave.); and George Washington Middle School (1005 Mt. Vernon Ave.)  Each team will play a five league games and each team will make the play-offs.  Game will be scheduled for 7 p.m., 8 p.m. and 9 p.m.

 


 

 

Senior Pickleball Class (Ages 55 and older)

Learn how to play pickleball or improve your game by playing with some of the area's best players. Classes will be held on January 25, February 1 and February 8 from 9 a.m. to  10:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon. Co-ed Senior Bowling League (Ages 55 & Older)

Teams will play a seven (7) game guaranteed schedule with awards presented to the 1st and 2nd place winners.

Registration Period:  July - August

Game Days:  Tuesdays beginning in September from 9 a.m. to 12 noon

Location:  U.S. Bowling Bar & Grill, 100 South Pickett Street, Alexandria

Fee:  $180/team, Nonresidents Fee:  Additional $25/player

The City of Alexandria along with a number of other local jurisdictions is a proud member of the MARPSA organization. The purpose of the MARPSA is to develop and communicate a consistent message that organizations and their players, coaches and spectators will be held accountable to a code of conduct that promotes sportsmanship and keeps recreational competitive and non-competitive sporting activities in proper prospective.

Adult league Players and coaches are required to complete a Code of Conduct Form or the Team Roster/Sportsmanship Form (found in the team registration packet) before participating in the any adult sports program in Alexandria.
