Small Area Plans and Special Studies
The City's Master Plan is made up of 18 Small Area Plans covering neighborhoods throughout the City, plus other City-wide relevant chapters. The City periodically amends existing plans or creates new plans, or conducts special studies related to a planning/land use topic through a public process. The FY2015 Interdepartmental Work Program approved by City Council in June 2014 reflects the City's current and future planning efforts. In FY15, the following plans and studies are underway:
Development projects are carefully reviewed by City staff, the Planning Commission and the City Council to ensure compatability with the City's Master Plan, the Zoning Ordinance and other design and technical guidelines. Staff of the Development Division serve as project managers and coordinate with other City staff throughout the development review process. Plans in Active Implementation Phase
The process of implementing an approved plan or program may take years, and is often a colloborative process between City staff and the community. The following are plans and programs that are currently in the active implementation phase.
