Brownies, Discover “Her Story” During Women’s History Month! The Lyceum Hosts “Try-It” Program on March 17
Alexandria’s Department of Community and Human Services will sponsor two activity stations to help Brownies learn about important women’s issues. At the “Healthy Relationships” station, participants will create a Peace Tree. The positive words participants write on lip and hand cutouts symbolize their commitment not to say hurtful things or to use hands to hurt others. Girl and adult participants will decorate pink ribbon cutouts at the station where they learn about Alexandria’s Walk for Breast Cancer. Two sessions are available, the first from 1:30 p.m. to 2:40 p.m. and the second from 3 p.m. to 4:10 p.m. Advance registration is required and can be done online at www.alexandriahistory.org or by calling 703.746.4994. Fees are $6 per person. The Lyceum is located at 201 South Washington Street in Old Town Alexandria and is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sundays, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, visit www.alexandriahistory.org or call 703.746.4994.
